I don’t naturally jump out of bed in the morning. I’m not one of those people with a bright smile on my face. I’m a snooze button, don’t talk to me yet kind of person in the morning. But Lately I’ve found that romanticizing my morning routine has transformed it. It’s not because I’m a morning person… But I stopped treating it like a race.
Why I Romanticize Mornings
I Stopped Rushing, and Everything Got Softer
Mornings used to feel like survival mode. Wake up, check phone, shower, start my day. It was an ongoing battle. I now give myself permission to exist first. It can be as little as five minutes. This doesn’t magically happen over night, but it can happen over a few nights. This means giving yourself enough sleep at night and aiming to wake up even five minutes before you’re supposed to.
I Romanticize the Ordinary
Instead of dreading the To-Do list in the mornings. I savor the small things using my five senses:
– Watching the sky shifting colors
– The first bite of Breakfast
– Putting on my favorite scented lotion
– Listening to the sound of the kettle
– The Smell of a freshly brewed coffee

I found magic in repetition
Nothing extreme. Just one thing that grounds me before the world gets loud.
Some of my favorites are:
– Opening a window and letting in fresh air.
– Admiring the colors of the trees during autumn.
– Putting on a soft playlist before checking my phone.
My most cherished one is a quiet cup of coffee or tea. If you’ve been reading my my blog for a while, my morning cup is sacred. It’s not about aesthetic, but intention. That moment gives me time to slow down and reflect.
You don’t need to wake up super early to have a beautiful morning. That sounds like a nightmare for someone who isn’t a morning person. Romanticizing your mornings is about finding time for yourself before the day ahead. It gives you ownership over what you can control.
